That is always a sign of desperation in a woman." : Humorous, well-formatted play in it's entirety including a fine table of contents with handy links taking you to the persons of the play, scenes of the play and each of the fourth act. One I would like to see performed live one day both for its' wit and the more poignant passages like "It is always worth while asking a question, though it is not always worth while answering one." However, this story isn't just funny it is loaded with poignant social commentary and a moral about forgiveness that is timeless. I doubt that many comedies of today will get a rating like that after more than 100 years! I doubt though that real people ever had such witty conversations. Maybe Oscar Wilde did. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jackie M -- Very easy and enjoyable read : I was surprised to find this was a play not a novel and was about to discard it, but I immediately got hooked just glancing at the first couple of sentences. Oscar Wilde gives good detailed descriptions of the scenes and characters which make this play very pleasant and easy to read. The play includes plenty of Oscar Wilde's witticisms and I could hear an appreciative audience in my mind quite often while I was reading. I'm very glad I downloaded this book.
